Montesoro is Dead – Long Live Rams Hill

rams hill 013

March 25, 2012 was a great day for Rams Hill. Yes, Rams Hill.  On that day at 4:30 we removed the signs saying Montesoro from the front of the property and replaced them with signs saying Rams Hill.

At an informal ceremony today many residents arrived dressed in their finest Rams Hill clothing and drink in hand to toast the official change from Montesoro to Rams Hill.  Initially the entrance sign was hidden behind an old Rams Hill flag then the statement below was read:

Once upon a time, in a land far far away, there was a kingdom, known far and wide for its abundance and happy, satisfied citizens.  Everyone in the land was treated with respect and all knew they were welcome within the gates of the walled city whether they be city folk or country folk.

Then out of the North came an evil Barron with his horde of henchmen, and they took control fo the kingdom and decreed that only special new citizens would be allowed to enjoy the gifts of the land and the kingdom.  The residents were shocked and dismayed and became very unhappy and malcontent.  The land fell fallow and the once prosperous kingdom withered on the vine.

As with all things, time passed and so did the evil Baron.  In a mighty conflagration (some called it a revolution) the Baron’s house collapsed in flames and ashes – and out of those ashes arose a phoenix declaring (as they did in the olden days) THE KING IS DEAD, LONG LIVE THE KING!

For those us us here today that do not speak ancient languages, the correct translation is: Montesoro is dead – long live Rams Hill!!!

We are here today to commemorate this historic event and to witness the unveiling of the new Rams Hill entry signs.

Let’s raise our glasses on high and toast this reincarnation.

Everyone cheered, drank a toast and spent about an hour milling around enjoying our new signs.  A potluck dinner was next on the agenda at the Santa Rosa pool.

We are former residents of Rams Hill. Do to circumstances beyond our control we gave up our haven in the desert, thinking one day we would return.. After seeing the horrible changes to Rams Hill we gave up that dream. Seeing our beloved 14th hole ponds destroyed broke our hearts – not to mention the putrid ( and I say putrid because the word that comes to mind isn’t very nice) color they painted our adorable patio home was unbearable. God Bless those who stuck it out and if anyone sees Judy and Irwin Mandel tell them “Hi” for us and we miss them. Colleen and Alan Rowe
